10 Great Tips for Finding Even More Fun in Your Area

There are so many events and cool places to visit in the DFW Metroplex, that it would be impossible for me to list them all.  But I would hate for any mommies to miss out on great fun just because it is not posted here!  So... I am going to share some tips with you on finding free and low cost things to do in your area.

Story Times, Chess Clubs, Lego Clubs, Puppet Shows, Craft Nights, Family Game Nights, Movies, Special Guests and Entertainers...  Many of these are available right in your city!

1- LIBRARY!! - So many library programs are underutilized, with parents down the street thinking they have nothing to go do with their kids tonight/tomorrow/etc.  Check your library calendar for great events!

2- Local Community/Rec Center - Lots of recreation and community centers have inexpensive or 'free' classes and events.  Check websites/calendars.

3- Parks and Recreation Pages - This can be your best resource, especially if you like to be outside.  Check calendars!

4- City Website - Many times all 3 of the above are combined in 1 website, the city's main page.  Yes or no, check it anyway.

5- InTheLoopKids Calendar - What are you going to do?  Look here too!

6-DFW Child Calendar - And here!

7-Churches - Churches may have indoor play areas, holiday events, back to school events, monthly after school events, etc.

8- Facebook - 'like' certain places that you wish to visit.  events and specials will post in your newsfeed, so you will be able to stay up to date.  Also, many 'pay to play' places will post discounts and coupons, even some 'free' days.

9- Your Local Tourism Sites - Of course these people know what is going on in the city, and many know of places that are unknown even to the locals!

10-What is Near You - Check Malls, Museums, Specific Districts (like Sundance Square, The Dallas Arts District, West 7th, Fair Park, etc), for their events.

You can also 'like' DFW Metroplex Mommy on Facebook, I post a lot of fun events and when I find out about discounts, I post those also.
